How to Remove the Popup Ads in Avira Antivir

While Avira Antivir has one of the best detection rates of all antivirus, one of the main disadvantages is that after updating, you get annoying full-screen ads nagging you to upgrade. To remove these, read on.

Steps

Windows 2000 / Windows XP Pro

Go to Start > Run.
Type gpedit.msc and click OK.
Navigate through User Configuration > Administrative Templates > System.
Double click "Don't run specified Windows applications".
Enable it and click show.
Add "avnotify.exe".
Click OK on all open windows.
Restart.

Alternate:

Start > Run: secpol.msc (You can also access this program through 'Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Local Security Policy' this is useful if it is easier the location of this rather than the file name)
Right click "Software Restriction Policies," Choose "New Software Restriction Policies." (Skip this step if there are subfolders in Software Restriction Policies already.)
Right Click "Additional Rule" folder > New Path Rule.
Where it says Path, Type the path of avnotify.exe on your computer, or use the Browse button to find it. (On XP64 using a default install of Avira, the path is: (C:\Program Files (x86)\Avira\AntiVir PersonalEdition Classic\avnotify.exe)
Make sure the "Security Level" Dropdown menu is selected as "Disallowed"
If you would like to make sure it went through correctly, open the Additional Rules folder, and verify the path and security level.
Enjoy the absence of nag windows.

Windows XP Home

Boot into Safe Mode.
Log into an account with administrator privileges.
Open [driveinstalledon]:\Program Files\Avira\AntiVir PersonalEdition Classic.
Right click on avnotify.exe and go to Properties > Security > Advanced.
Click on Edit-> Traverse Folder / Execute File-> deny-> OK.
Repeat for all users.
Reboot your computer normally.
or
Run the command "cacls “%SYSTEMDRIVE%\Program Files\Avira\Insertpath\avnotify.exe” /e /d Everyone" to change the rights without restarting. Everyone can be exhanged with another user account when needed

Windows 7 or Windows Vista Business/Ultimate

Open the control panel through Start > Control Panel.
Go to Administrative Tools > Local security policy.
Click on Software Restriction Policy > Action > Create new restriction policy.
Right-click, and go to additional rules > new path rule.
Click Browse and navigate to C:\Program Files\Avira\AntiVir Desktop\ and double-click avnotify.exe.
Set the security level to Disallowed.
Click apply and OK.

Windows Vista Home 64-Bit

Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Avira\AntiVir Desktop\avnotify.exe for the current version, 9. For earlier versions, go to C:\Program Files\Avira\AntiVir PersonalEdition Classic\avnotify.exe.
Right-click avnotify.exe and go to Properties > Security.
Under the group or username SYSTEM, click edit.
Put a checkmark under the DENY column for "read and execute".

Windows Vista Home 32-Bit

Go to C:\Program Files\Avira\AntiVir Desktop\avnotify.exe for the current version, 9. For earlier versions, go to C:\Program Files\Avira\AntiVir PersonalEdition Classic\avnotify.exe.
Right-click avnotify.exe and go to Properties > Security.
Under the group or username SYSTEM, click edit.
Put a checkmark under the DENY comlumn for "read and execute".

Tips

Before giving up, try setting a restriction on avnotify.dll as well.
An easier way to do this is just to pay for Avira AntiVir Premium, if you are satisfied with the free version.

余守亮，他那惊为天人的自杀方式

　我不知道为何越来越多的人在与警察打交道之后会选择自杀，也不知道河南平顶山的佘守亮是否是世界第8888名接触警察之后自杀身亡的人，但我敢肯定，他绝不是最后一名被捕后自杀的人。
　　
　　某天，一向醉后爱闹事的佘守亮又喝醉了，醉酒之后动手打人被捕。在派出所里，酒醒之后的佘守亮对自己的打人行为很后悔，并愿意接受派出所对他作出的拘留10天，罚款500元的处罚。此外，佘守亮的家属感觉对不起被打者，在佘守亮被送去拘留所后又给受害人送去了解1000元钱，并赔礼道歉。
　　
　　佘守亮酒后打人，受到了应有的惩罚，他以及他的家人都接受了。佘守亮的家人在等候其拘留期满回家，或者他会重新作人，就在这焦急的等待中，派出所打来电话，告知佘守亮家属，民警带佘守亮去公安分局办理拘留审批手续时，他从公安局里逃走了，现已不见踪影。
　　
　　佘守亮的家属更加着急，到所有亲戚和他有可能到的地方四下查找，始终不见佘守亮踪影。但没过多久，派出所殖民地次给佘守亮家属打电话，叫他们去公安局一趟，在公安局里，民警告知家属，佘守亮找到了，但其已自杀身亡，警察已帮忙把尸体送到了殡仪馆。
　　
　　家属随即赶到殡仪馆，只见佘守亮尸体遍体鳞伤，死亡时间并不长，尸体仍然流淌着鲜血。
　　
　　佘守亮既然接受了处理，也承认了自己的罪行，甚至他能够从公安局里逃了出来，为何又这么着急以自杀来结束自己的生命？这确实很令人想不通。
　　
　　更使人想不通的是，佘守亮自杀的方式简直空前绝后，惊为天人。自杀的佘守亮，头顶像钝器所伤，伤口两寸多长；左臂骨折；右肘部皮肉翻裂见骨；胸部有两处渗血的脚印；后背及臀部有大面积青紫淤血；两个膝盖部的淤血呈青紫色；双手腕部发黑发焦。”
　　
　　目前为止，没有任何专家能够解释佘守亮自杀的过程，更没有人能够解释他为何能够以这种惨不忍睹的方式杀死自己。按照民警的说法，佘守亮是割腕自杀，身上的多处外伤是在自杀过程中形成的。
　　
　　也就是说，佘守亮最先是割腕，然后造成了身体其他伤痕，其割腕之后，用钝器猛击自己头部，再找到其他工具翻皮剥肉，还用其他工具将自己后背及臀部打成大面积青紫淤血，我们姑且不论他是怎么找得到那么多自杀器材的，还有更绝的事情，那就是佘守亮如何能够做到在自己的胸口踩下两处还渗着血的脚印？
　　
　　佘守亮的自杀过程图，也许最强大的电脑特技师也无法一下子还原出来，这程自杀景象，也许只能永远在人们的幻想中出现了。能够以这种方式自杀的人，简直惊人天人，全球仅此一例。

How to configure the application doesn't support proxy to work through proxy server. -让不支持代理的桌面应用同样能

If your application doesn't support proxy or if you want to make configuring easier, then you can use SocksCap.

1) Please download Sockscap here and then run it. You can see this main window of SocksCap:

2) Select File -> Settings in SocksCap menu.
• Enter your proxy address in the "SOCKS Server" and proxy port in "Port" field.
• Select SOCKS Version 4 or SOCKS Version 5 depending on your needs.

3) Click OK to save the settings, then click NEW -> BROWSE to add your application to SocksCap (create application profile) or simply click and drag your application shortcut icon into the SocksCap window and select "New application profile" (the profile name and working directory will be filled in automatically) and click "OK".

4) Click RUN, and now this application will work through the set proxy server.

有墙也不是一天两天的事了，最早我用的是freegate，不过在firefox下仍然不能上facebook,wordpress等网站，而且后来也不行了。接着就用puff了，我必须说此物确实强大，简单易用速度快，但在今秋不幸阵亡。XXOO。。。。

然后就进入到了toonel的时代，狠方便狠好用，不过现在速度有点慢（但再慢也慢不过Tor，呵呵），于是一切都狠和谐，但是。。。。

前几天开始用Seamonkey，马上喜欢上了，比firefox快的多，具体特点大家可以google一下，不过虽同是Mozilla出品，add on方面的选择要少狠多，而我用firefox时狠关键的add on "Yoono browser add on"也不支持Seamonkey，所以必须要用Yoono desktop，可toonel不支持sock代理啊，于是。。。。google。。。。发现SocksCap（任何有关Sockscap的网站都是被墙的，强！），好东东啊，能让任何不支持sock代理的桌面应用通过它而翻墙！Tor支持sock代理啊，所以把Sockscap的proxy address设127.0.0.1，端口设为9050，That's it!
